Cows - different ways

I’ve been continuing my animal drawing practice - using a combination of Terry Runyan’s book, Ed Emberley’s book and reference photography.

original hand drawn pencil sketch

added color in Photoshop but kept the original pencil sketch layer on.

painted in Photoshop - over pencil lines

live traced and added color in Adobe Illustrator. I think this is my fav.

used bamboo pen and India Ink to make thick, dark lines. Scanned, live traced, added color and textured overlay. I’ve always been drawn to thick black lines so I do like this one. Worried that it looks like I just traced with the blob brush - a technique I do love doing, but worry it looks bad.
