Shelby’s Kitchen
Excited to share the newest addition to my portfolio: Shelby’s Kitchen! This collection brings a fresh color palette to a familiar favorite, building on the charm of my earlier Gayle’s Kitchen designs. One of my goals this year is to explore more color variations on existing patterns. It’s a great way to expand my shop offerings while keeping my portfolio dynamic.
Combining delicate florals and playful polka dots in a limited taupe-brown and blue-grey palette, this set is inspired by the 2025 Pantone Color of the Year, Mocha Mousse. I’ve heard a lot of complaints about this color in the design world but I for one love it!! I was finding myself leaning towards earthy browns and mauves already, so this color choice gives my all the feels.
These patterns also pay homage to the bold, geometric florals that defined 1970s home decor. I can already envision the hero design gracing everything from retro-style tile backsplashes to chic fashion pieces!
Here’s an idea: a mockup (from Creatsy.com) of a child’s winter coat featuring the hero pattern. Isn’t it just darling? 😊 It’s so rewarding to see these designs come to life in a way that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
I’d love to hear your thoughts! What projects could you imagine Shelby’s Kitchen being perfect for? Let me know in the comments!
You can find this as a digital paper set in my Etsy shop and all the patterns are available as fabric or wallpaper in my Spoonflower shop.
WORDS
Once we let go of outcomes, we can look inward and focus on the things that truly matter: To become a good person with values, who has character, and is good at what they do.
That’s the biggest reward in life. And it’s 100% in your own hands.
